The National Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) managed to curb a high-risk fire, which broke out in the “Upeslīči” sawmill building complex around 13:30 Olaines county Suntaži parish.

At 13.36, the SFRS received an invitation to Suntaži Parish, Ogre District, where the sawmill building complex, shavings, chips and pellets were burning, the SFRS reports on its account on the microblogging site “Twitter”.
32 fire and rescue workers were working at the scene, using seven tank trucks, a water tank and a truck ladder.
At 16.24, the spread of this high-risk fire was limited.
The sawmill building complex burns a total of 800 square meters, chips in the amount of 150 cubic meters, wood chips in the amount of 300 cubic meters, pile of pellets and timber in the area of 300 square meters.
SFRS continues to extinguish the fire.
SIA “Upeslīči” confirmed that the fire had broken out in their territory, but did not provide further comments yet.
According to “Firmas.lv” information, SIA “Upeslīči” was founded in 1995. Its share capital is 2828 euros. In 2019, the company’s turnover was 3.351 million euros, but the profit was 145,370 euros. The sole owner of the company is Rolands Jēkabsons.
