03.09.24 – SV Sparkassen-Versicherung and SV Kommunal have been supporting fire departments for many years. The fire department and the insurer always have the protection and saving of human lives in mind, but of course also the rescue of buildings and the prevention of damage. Anniversary bonuses, subsidies for fire protection cases and, above all, innovative fire department equipment are among the subsidies in recent years.
Not every fire engine has portable headlights. Therefore, SV Sparkassen-Versicherung / SV Kommunal provide the municipalities insured with them with a free LED lighting system through the KRISTALL insurance cover. This is intended to improve the operational capability of the fire brigades and ease the burden on the municipal budget.
The municipality of Lautertal, through Mayor Lukas Becker and the first deputy municipal fire inspector Marcel Isaakson, has already received this LED lighting system free of charge in Dirlammen in the last few days, valued at around EUR 1,100, from Andreas Haas of SV Sparkassen-Versicherung. The system is now also loaded onto the Dirlammen fire department’s emergency vehicle.
Andreas Haas explained:
“The tasks of the fire brigades are becoming more and more varied and demanding. Therefore, SV Sparkassen-Versicherung and SV Kommunal have decided to support the fire brigades with another high-quality piece of equipment: a portable LED lighting system from the manufacturer Rosenbauer, which is battery-operated.
The multifunctional LED lighting systems are used whenever it becomes difficult to provide light. In operations where the power supply is a challenge (for example during flooding) and in difficult terrain (for example in the forest, on roofs), these battery-operated, powerful devices provide a solution. The LED hand-held spotlights can be used to optimally illuminate the scene of an incident without the need for additional power sources.”
SV Sparkassen-Versicherung plans to equip over 800 insured municipalities with a free LED lighting system by 2026 – thus once again investing almost one million euros in this fire service support measure. (pm) +++
