Because the incidence value has been over 100 for days, stricter corona rules should apply again in Osnabrück from Wednesday. Meanwhile, Salzgitter is rapidly approaching the 200.
More than 100 new infections with the coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants within a week and that since last Friday: In a general decree, which is to be issued on Tuesday, the city of Osnabrück wants to state which rule is therefore now effective. According to the ordinance of the state of Lower Saxony, the retail trade, zoo and cultural institutions have to close again.
Osnabrück does not want to close
The city does not want to come to terms with this, however, and is hoping for some concession from the country. As a spokeswoman announced on Monday, more than two thirds of those infected state that they know who they are likely to have been infected from. “All of this indicates that many people get infected in their private lives, but not in retail, which was closed until the beginning of last week,” said Katharina Pötter, head of the Osnabrück Corona crisis team. It therefore calls for the retail trade to be reopened using a test strategy despite the increasing numbers. People with a daily negative rapid test should therefore be able to go shopping. So shopping tourism in the district should be avoided. In addition, Pötter pleaded for the zoo to be opened. It had opened again about a week ago.
Highest value in Salzgitter
The city of Salzgitter currently has the highest number of new infections in Lower Saxony. The incidence value there has been rising rapidly for days. The city is approaching the value of 200. The district of Lüneburg had to take back easing due to increased numbers.
