The victim died in Gaza as a result of Israeli attacks continues to increase. The Hamas-run Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) in Gaza said the death toll has now exceeded 8 thousand people.
“The death toll related to Israeli aggression has exceeded 8,000 people, half of whom are children,” the ministry said, as reported by AFPSunday (29/10/2023).
The latest number of victims released last Saturday morning was 7,703 people.
As is known, Israel continues to bombard Gaza after the Hamas attack on October 7. Most recently, Israel deployed ground troops to the Northern Gaza Strip. The troops were in Gaza more than 24 hours after entering the Palestinian territory.
“Since early Friday morning, a combined force of armor, combat engineers and infantry has been operating in the northern region of the Gaza Strip,” said a military statement, reported by AFP, Sunday (29/10/2023).
Israeli forces have carried out several small-scale ground attacks on Gaza. However, this attack was their longest attack in the area.
The Palestinian medical team even said that Israel targeted the western port area of Gaza with white phosphorus bombs. This resulted in hundreds of cases of shortness of breath, most of which had to be rushed to hospital.
“Most of the injuries occurred in children and elderly people, especially those with pre-existing respiratory illnesses,” according to the source quoted from Anadolu AgencySunday (29/10/2023).
Correspondent Anadolu Of Gaza also reported some areas covered by white phosphorus bombs.
For your information, white phosphorus bombs are internationally prohibited under the 1980 Geneva Convention, which explicitly prohibits their use as incendiary weapons against humans and the environment.
