Thrissur: The High Court has said that the fake intoxication case against Sheela Sunny, the owner of a beauty parlor in Chalakudy, is very serious and the government should give a comprehensive reply. Sheila Sunny approached the High Court demanding a compensation of Rs 72 lakh.
The State Government, Excise Commissioner, Additional Excise Commissioner and Assistant Excise Commissioner are the opposite parties one to four in the case. The bench headed by Justice Devan Ramachandran directed that the four opposing parties should file a comprehensive reply. The case will be heard again on the 7th of this month.
The Excise Crime Branch found that Narayanadas, a resident of Erur, Tripunithura, was the person who misled the Excise to trap Sheela Sunny and put her in jail. Narayanadas is a close relative of Sheela and a friend of the young woman. He is the one who called the excise and informed that there is LSD stamp on Sheela’s scooter. The chemical lab test showed that it was not an intoxicating stamp. Sheela spent 72 days in jail. The excise officer who arrested Sheela was suspended earlier.
