High Council of Justice to consider permission to arrest judge involved in fatal accident in Kyiv

On Saturday, the High Council of Justice will consider a submission on permission to arrest Judge Aleksey Tandyr, who on the night of May 26 knocked down a National Guardsman to death at a checkpoint in Kyiv.

Details: At a meeting on May 27, the High Council of Justice will consider the submission of Deputy Prosecutor General Anton Voytenko on granting consent to the detention of the chairman of the Makarovsky District Court of the Kyiv Region Oleksiy Tandyra.

What came before: The court granted the request of the prosecutor’s office to forcibly take biological samples from the judge.

Tandyr was suspected of committing a fatal accident while intoxicated under Part 3 of Art. 286-1 of the UKU. He faces imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of 5 to 10 years.
