High cholesterol can be difficult to recognize due to the lack of symptoms. Forming in the arteries silently, this condition can lead to heart disease and other serious health problems.
Reporting from Express, Saturday (6/8/2022) increased cholesterol levels are often caused by fatty foods. Fortunately, a healthy diet can reverse this condition.

But eating the opposite can help push fatty substances out of the body. However, a study published in the journal Molecular Nutrition and Food Research found that eating broccoli can lower high cholesterol.
In the study, respondents were asked to consume 400 grams of broccoli per week as part of a normal diet. After eating broccoli for 12 weeks, researchers saw an average reduction in bad cholesterol of six percent.
“Although the reduction seen in this trial was small, at a population level, a 1 percent reduction in bad cholesterol has been associated with a 1 to 2 percent reduction in coronary artery disease risk,” the researchers explained.
Another part of broccoli that is able to target cholesterol is fiber. Some types of fiber are able to remove cholesterol from the body.
