HiFive Pro 550 board with RISC-V chip from Intel and SiFive to be released in summer 2023 – Computer – News

and contain a SPECint 2006 benchmark score of 8.65 per GHz

What does this mean concretely, how should a Tweakers.net visitor put this performance in perspective? I would like to see this covered in the article as well.

Maybe I’m wrong myself, but this performance per Ghz (no idea how many GHZ this processor will run at) is not super great if I this link take as a rough frame of reference (very old CPUs)

I’m linking to 2006 processors here so maybe that gives a little more context. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can put this in context.

Also the linked Tweakers.net article about the CPU itself does not provide enough context for me.

According to SiFive, four P550 cores take up as much space on a CPU as a single ARM Cortex-A75 core, while the core delivers better performance.

Because I really don’t know off the top of my head what a Cortex-A75 CPU delivers in terms of performance and how to see that in perspective, except that this CPU is from 2017.

It would already give me a better feeling in terms of performance if we were to compare this CPU / board with a Raspberry Pi4 or a similar well-known processor.
