“Would bring up too many old emotions and memories.”

FromSoftware CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki talked about the release of . in an interview with Edge magazine Demon’s Souls Remake. In the interview, Miyazaki admits that he hasn’t played that remake himself yet, but is nonetheless impressed with the visual upgrade that Bluepoint Games has given to its classic.
Miyazaki explains why he hasn’t played the game himself yet. “I don’t like to play games that I used to make anyway. That brings back a lot of old emotions and memories, which makes it all a bit overwhelming,” said Miyazaki.
However, he also gives developer Bluepoint Games a lot of credit. The impressive visual upgrade for the game has also raised the bar for future FromSoftware games. However, according to Miyazaki, graphics are never the top priority for FromSoftware.
“I feel a bit guilty towards my graphics teams because I know how hard they work. They also worked incredibly hard on Elden Ring. Together with our graphics-systems team and our programmers, they came up with a lot of new features to make our most beautiful game to date.”
