To say that we are surprised and have like bruises with each wave. We had our minds elsewhere, war, inflation, elections. And now, we are told that BA.5 would spend the summer with us. With all and for all some vague recommendations to pass this seventh wave. Right in the air, the government, in its relative majority, seems to have other fish to fry. And, refusing to shake up an already weary public opinion, the minister in charge of the file and incidentally about to leave, remains as polite as a pebble on the beach. Flagrant offense of casualness, epidemic denial, capitulation, generalized wait-and-see attitude or simple coolness of managers who have seen others and, in a burst of optimism, rely on common sense as citizens? Not so long ago, some thought they were in the midst of a dictatorship at the slightest health coercion. Never happy, these French people, one might add. Have we quite simply arrived at this precise moment when the shift towards the doctrine of “learning to live with the Covid” takes place? It would still have to be stated clearly so that it looks like a public health policy.
