The messenger WhatsApp wants to be more for you than just an app for chatting. To achieve this, the company is continually working on new features that come to your smartphones through updates – often in the form of new buttons.
With an update, WhatsApp is now bringing a new switch to your cell phones – whether Android or iOS, like the fan blog WABetaininfo reported. When you flip it, a new magic wand button appears that literally enchants your camera.
Behind the new magic wand button: powerful effects for your video calls
The new Magic Wand button unlocks a range of new effects and filters for your video calls on WhatsApp. You can have your background in the video replaced by virtual scenes such as “living room”, “office”, “café” or even “beach” or “sunset”. Alternatively, you can blur the background using the “Blur” effect – this might save you the hassle of cleaning up!
Among the available filters you will find options for skin smoothing, stored in a button with a theater mask and brush, which help to minimize skin imperfections and uneven skin tones. A “low-light” mode, symbolized by a button with a light bulb, allows you to record videos well even in dark or poorly lit environments.
This is how you find the switch for the magic wand button
You can find the option or switch for the new video effects in the settings under “Privacy”. There should now be the “Allow camera effects” option there, which you can either activate or deactivate using the switch. If you don’t have the switch in your settings yet, you can search for an update for WhatsApp in your app store.
