TVB’s current affairs special program “Current Affairs in Many Sides” recently purchased 3 drinks and a dish from Fandai, and then conducted tests on the above food. The results showed that all foods were found to contain bacteria. One of the drinks had a total bacterial count of 1.5 million.
In the program, a TVB reporter received the food order at about 5 p.m. The purchasing agent said that the dishes were not received until about 4 p.m., and even though the drinks were stored in thermos bags, the milk caps had melted.
After the delivery, the reporter sent the relevant food and beverages to the laboratory for testing within 15 minutes. When the experimenter opened the package, they found that the dish “Chili Fish Head” was only served in a plastic bowl and packed in a plastic bag; the drink was packed in an insulated bag, but there was no ice inside the bag. The sign on the drink even showed that the purchase time was 1:43 pm, which was more than 3 hours away from the 5:00 delivery time.
After laboratory testing, all four foods were found to contain bacteria. One cup of bubble milk tea with milk caps had a total bacterial load of 1.5 million, which was not satisfactory. The reporter further inquired with the Center for Food Safety, and the other party responded that members of the public should verify whether merchants have adopted appropriate storage and transportation measures.
