This seeks to verify that the presence of these businesses does not interfere with traffic, pedestrian circulation, or emergency exits from the businesses, guaranteeing public safety.
The proposal will then allow food trucks, but only in specific areas, a minimum distance of 10 feet (3 m) from any structure. In addition, it is proposed to prohibit their presence within 500 feet (approximately 150 m) of food stores and gas stations, seeking to avoid congestion in commercial areas.
Municipal authorities say they want to balance the protection of public order with business freedom in the sector, however, strict regulation in a business that was previously free and simple due to few legal implications, has worried some truck owners. meal.
