HFC Loses First Home Game Despite Strong Efforts

Halle coach Sreto Ristic only made one change compared to the 1:3 loss at Erzgebirge Aue. He had to replace Tom Baumgart, who was injured in training on Friday, and so junior international Julian Eitschberger made his debut for Halleschen FC in the right-back position.

HFC helps diligently with the goal conceded

The HFC started with a lot of ball control and tried to build up the game calmly. The guests were very compact defensively and tried to make transitions. So it took until 18 minutes for the first conclusion of the game. Morris Schröter, who was already active for FSV Zwickau, moved into the center with a single action from the right side, let Niklas Landgraf and Aljaz Casar slip into space, but shot well over the goal.

Five minutes later he did better. After a pass from Nico Hug that was far too short, Schröter won the press shot against Landgraf and was alone in front of HFC keeper Müller. He pushed the ball into the far corner from twelve meters. The Ristic team couldn’t find any real ideas to crack the visitors’ defense until the break. A long-range shot from Tunay Deniz (21st/over) and an attempt by Gayret from the edge of the penalty area (45th+1/directly at the keeper) initially remained the only two dangerous actions by the Saxony-Anhalters.

Halle comes out of the cabin with pressure

During the break, Ristic made three changes. And the newcomers around Erich Berko and Andor Bolyki provided a huge boost to the offensive game. Dominic Baumann with a long-range shot and two almost finishes brought worry lines to the TSV defense’s forehead. But even though the HFC now became more dangerous, the last bit of scoring was still missing.

The guests were completely different: After a sharp cross from Schröter, no one felt responsible for Julian Guttau at the far post and the native of Halle, who wore the HFC jersey for eleven years, pushed the ball over the line. Guttau, of all people, you might think. And Hall? They could have easily equalized, but subsequently missed a number of great opportunities. Even a red card against Sixty’s Manfred Starke and a few minutes in the lead didn’t change the Red-Whites’ first home defeat.
