Hezbollah Leader’s Speech Raises Concerns of Possible War Trigger

“The very delay of the Hezbollah leader’s speech already carries a message. Obviously, Hezbollah and Iran do not want to appear soft or non-resisting, non-critical of Israel. But on the other hand, there is caution about possible circumstances in which a full-scale war could be triggered. The truth is that it is not excluded”.

This is what the former Bulgarian ambassador to the United States and current vice-president of the Atlantic Club, Elena Poptodorova, commented on the speech of the leader of Hezbollah, who stated that all scenarios are possible, on Nova News.

Regarding the development of the conflict in the Gaza Strip, Poptodorova explained that, in her opinion, Israel will not back down, regardless of the increasing pressure.

“The US has changed its arguments and appeals, at first the only statement was that Israel has the right to defend itself. This is a fair legal defense. However, we are already reaching some statements in which the US believes that it can and wants to use its influence on Israel to achieve a way out for civilians,” she added. According to her, there are no optimistic scenarios and Israel will pursue its goal to the end.

We remind you that on Friday the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Israel for the second time in two weeks.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Gabriel, are due to leave for Tel Aviv on Monday.
