Hezbollah Fighters from Border Region Lead the Front in War with Israeli Army – Death Toll Rises to 130

Hezbollah is finally relying on its fighters from the border region in the ongoing war with the Israeli army in southern Lebanon, according to what was revealed by a map of the party’s deaths in the last two weeks, whose number has risen to 130 dead since the war began on October 8 last. While the mutual bombardment between the two parties continued on Monday, the Al-Qassam Brigades in Lebanon, the military arm of the Hamas movement, announced the bombing of the Liman military barracks in the Western Galilee with a missile salvo.

Hezbollah mourned two of its fighters, one from Markaba, and the other from Mays al-Jabal. Over the past two weeks, Hezbollah carried out the funeral procession for about 15 of its fighters, hailing from the towns of Markaba, Aita al-Shaab, Aitaroun, Yaroun and Mays al-Jabal, which are towns adjacent to the border, while a member hailing from the town of Brital in the Bekaa took the funeral procession. He was described in the obituary statement as a “wounded martyr,” indicating that he died as a result of his injury. Two members from two areas located about 10 and 15 kilometers from the border, namely Al-Sha’itiya and Ma’roub, also mourned.

The map of the towns from which the members who were killed in the battle came from indicates that the party has now relied mainly on the people of the confrontation villages, without sending reinforcements from other areas, and this is different from what the situation was before the suspension of fighting following the Gaza truce, as previous battles resulted in… Several members were killed, hailing from the Bekaa (eastern Lebanon) or the villages of Al-Amq in the south.

The number of party members who hail from the town of Aita al-Shaab alone has risen to 8 dead since the start of the war, which is “additional evidence that the party depends on protecting the villages,” as field sources say, pointing out in statements to Asharq Al-Awsat that the majority of them They were killed in violent air strikes that targeted homes and led to their complete destruction, in addition to drone strikes on members while they were moving in the field.
