Hezbollah drone strikes in northern Israel – Casualty reports – 2024-08-07 10:37:17

Series of drone attacks against military targets in northern Israel announced by Hezbollah.

In a statement, the Lebanese Shiite group claimed to have fired a series of drones at the headquarters of the Golani Brigade and that of the Egoz unit, an elite commando unit, located in the Sarraga barracks near the border with Lebanon.

The attacks “accurately hit their targets and caused casualties,” the group said, clarifying that its response to the killing of Fouad Shukr, a senior Hezbollah military commander in Beirut last week, was “yet to come.”

Meanwhile, the Times of Israel reports that two people were injured, one critically, in a drone strike in the nearby town of Mazra’a.

Hezbollah has vowed to avenge Shukr’s death, raising concerns that an escalation of the conflict could lead to an all-out war in the region.
