This is the second time this week that Hezbollah announced the downing of an Israeli march with a surface-to-air missile, amid escalating cross-border clashes coinciding with Israel’s ground incursion into Gaza.
Hezbollah said in a statement that its fighters shot down the march over two villages on the Lebanese side of the border, and added that the missile “hit it directly, causing it to crash and fall immediately.”
The Israeli army acknowledged that a surface-to-air missile was launched from Lebanon towards one of its marches, according to Reuters.
“In response, the army struck the terrorist cell that launched the missile and the launch site,” he said in a statement, without specifying who was behind the launch.
He continued in the statement that “no damage was caused to the march.”
Neither party provided anything to support its story, and Reuters was unable to verify the authenticity of either story.
