The Lebanese Hezbollah announced – on Thursday – the targeting of 10 Israeli military sites off the southern border, and while the occupation army bombed several Lebanese areas, the Israeli Prime Minister vowed to repeat the Gaza scenario in Beirut and southern Lebanon.
The party said in a statement that its fighters targeted the sites of Al-Marj, Jal Al-Alam, Bayad Blida, Harj Ramim, Maayan Baruch, and Al-Jardah, and they also targeted gatherings of Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the Matat, Khallet Wardeh, and Harsh Shtoula barracks.
The party added that it also attacked the Zarit barracks.
Hezbollah confirmed that it had achieved direct casualties among the ranks of the Israeli occupation forces.
In separate statements, the party mourned 3 of its members who were killed during confrontations with the Israeli army across the border.
In this context, Israeli media reported that an anti-tank missile fired from southern Lebanon hit a civilian car in Matat in the Upper Galilee.
Later, the Israeli army said that an Israeli was killed today as a result of a bombing from Lebanon.
For his part, Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that rockets were fired from southern Lebanon towards the Kiryat Shmona settlement in the Upper Galilee.
Bombing and threats
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that Israeli aircraft raided the vicinity of the town of Kunine in the central sector of southern Lebanon, and a civilian was injured as a result of Israeli artillery shelling on the town of Khiam in the eastern sector. Israeli artillery bombed the surroundings of the towns of Shebaa, Kafr Shuba, Markaba, Hula, Rmeish, Al-Dhahira, Naqoura, and Alma Al-Shaab, in all sectors of southern Lebanon.
For its part, the official Lebanese News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes launched a raid near the carpet cooperative building in the town of Kunine, south of Lebanon, causing damage to the building.
The agency said that an Israeli bombing on Hamams Hill (south) caused the injury of a Lebanese man who was taken to Marjayoun Governmental Hospital, describing his condition as stable.
The agency reported that the outskirts of the towns of Houla, Markab, and Wadi Saluki in southern Lebanon were subjected to Israeli artillery shelling, noting that the towns of Alma al-Shaab, Tayr Harfa, and Al-Dhahira in the western sector on the border were also subjected to Israeli artillery shelling, without resulting in damage.
For his part, Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that Israeli artillery targeted the vicinity of the towns of Yaroun and Aita al-Shaab in southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that if Hezbollah chooses to launch a comprehensive war against Israel, it will turn Beirut and southern Lebanon into Gaza and Khan Yunis, as he put it, with both hands.
Netanyahu’s threat came during a field security assessment attended by Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy, and senior officers on the border with Lebanon.
Daily operations
It is noteworthy that Hezbollah carries out daily operations against Israeli military targets near the border, as part of its support for the Gaza Strip, which is subjected to Israeli aggression that has so far led to the death of more than 16 thousand civilians, most of whom are women and children.
The escalation in southern Lebanon resulted in the killing of more than 110 people, including 80 fighters in the ranks of Hezbollah and at least 15 civilians, including 3 journalists, according to Agence France-Presse.
The Israeli authorities announced the killing of 6 soldiers and 3 civilians.
