Hezbollah Attacks Israeli Soldiers in Lebanon Border Clash

Beirut

Group Hizbullah which is headquartered in Lebanonclaimed to have targeted soldiers Israel in the latest series of attacks on the border between the two countries. Hezbollah said its group attacked Israeli soldiers using drones, artillery and missiles on Monday (20/11) local time.

As reported AFP and Al ArabiyaTuesday (21/11/2023), the border between Lebanon and Israel has become the location of cross-border attacks every day since the war broke out between Tel Aviv and Hamas on October 7, when armed Hamas militants surprisedly attacked southern Israel.

Hezbollah in its statement said its fighters targeted Israeli soldiers west of Kiryat Shmona, northern Israel, ‘with three combat drones’. It also said that Hezbollah fighters targeted Israeli troops in the same area with artillery fire.

In its statement, Hezbollah claimed the attacks were “direct attacks” on its targets.

Hezbollah, in a statement on Monday (20/11) local time, said it launched ‘Burkan missiles’ against an Israeli military barracks.

Separately, the Israeli military reported that ‘three UAVs (drones) were identified as striking near’ a military post, without specifying their location. It was only stated by the Israeli military that there were ‘no reports of injuries’ as a result of the attack.

“A total of 25 launches were identified from Lebanon towards several locations close to the border,” the Israeli military said in a statement.

It was also reported by the Israeli military that its air defense system succeeded in ‘intercepting a number of launches and the rest fell in open areas’.
