Lebanese Hezbollah announced the killing of two of its fighters in border clashes with the Israeli army in southern Lebanon, at a time when mutual bombardment continues between the two sides.
In two separate statements, Hezbollah mourned two of its fighters from the town of Taybeh, saying that they “rose on the road to Jerusalem,” bringing the party’s death toll to 179.
Mutual bombardment continued between Hezbollah and the Israeli occupation forces. The party said – in a statement – “We targeted two buildings in the Al-Manara colony with appropriate weapons, and achieved a direct hit,” and “We targeted the Al-Marj site with appropriate weapons, and achieved a direct hit.”
The party also confirmed that it had targeted with missiles the Ruwaisat al-Alam site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms, and had also targeted enemy soldiers south of the al-Abad site with appropriate weapons, and stated that it had achieved a direct hit.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that missiles were fired from southern Lebanon towards Israeli positions in the Galilee Finger, the Shebaa Farms, and the occupied Kfar Shuba hills.
The correspondent also stated that missiles were launched from southern Lebanon towards the Israeli Zibdin barracks in the occupied Shebaa Farms.
He added that sirens sounded in Kiryat Shmona, Beit Hillel, Hanita, Margaliot, Al-Manara in Galilee, Upper and Western Galilee.
The correspondent also reported that, in return, Israeli fighter jets launched a raid on the town of Mays al-Jabal, and an Israeli drone targeted the town of Blida with missiles.
In the past 24 hours, Israeli fighters targeted the towns of Al-Taybeh, Aita Al-Shaab, Yaroun, Umm Al-Tut, and the Jabal Balat area.
Thousands of hits
Yesterday, Saturday, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that his forces had attacked more than 50 Lebanese Hezbollah targets in Syria, and 3,400 targets in Lebanon since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip about 4 months ago.
The spokesman pointed out that 150 Hezbollah cells in Lebanon were destroyed, and 200 people were killed in these strikes, he said.
On the other hand, the Israeli army announced the killing of 9 soldiers and 6 civilians in northern Israel, adding that it was conducting land, air and sea training, in anticipation of any war in the north.
According to Agence France-Presse, at least approximately 250 people were killed in Lebanon – most of them Hezbollah fighters – including at least 26 civilians.
