Marie-France Lcart-Nilles has been at the helm of the Navy veterans association for 31 years. The association of former sailors of Thionville – Yutz and surroundings has been scanning the horizon since 1948. It is the oldest in Moselle, it had 148 members when for the first time, a former marine woman, Marie-France Lcart-Nilles therefore becomes president. There have always been a large number of sailors from Lorraine, the Navy having a “prestige reputation”. The 80 professions divided into fourteen qualified specific fields of activity are very popular.
On the oceans and seas of the world, 365 days a year and 24 hours a day, the French Navy ensures the security and protection of French maritime space. 39,000 sailors carry out intelligence, prevention, intervention, deterrence and protection missions every day. Women and men are united in action. “Like most patriotic associations, the membership is undergoing severe erosion; soon, renewal will soon no longer be possible. Our associations are called upon to die out little by little while the duty of memory is still just as important, ”launched the president like a bottle in the sea.
In 2023, to maintain ties of friendship, the friendly plans to visit the premises of Cirfa Marine, then the fortified castle of Sedan, and to participate in the Rodemack flea market with the sale of Navy objects.
