Hessian Film and Cinema Prize celebrates the film country of Hesse with a gala and book fair prize

The jury of the film award decided on the following nominations:

Feature film

“clandestine” by Angelina Maccarone

„Shahid“ by Narges Kalhor

Documentary film

„Exile Never Ends“ by Bahar Bektas

„Sisterqueens“ by Clara Stella Hüneke

“Watching You – The World of Palantir and Alex Karp” by Klaus Stern

In these categories, the nomination fee is 4,000 euros.

Short film

“The perfect day” by Christoph Lauenstein and Wolfgang Lauenstein

“art choice” by Mark Menzel

“Staring” von Tianshu Yang

Graduation film

“The Cemetery of the Nameless” by Hesam Yousefi, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences

“The city is the guild and the guild is the city” by Jonas Leichsenring, Kassel Art Academy

It’s (Not) A Men’s World“ von Julia Gens and Franziska Rozicki, Kassel University of Art

“The 2nd Star from the Right” by David Ungureit and Markus Dietrich

The nomination fee in these categories is 1,000 euros each.

The Hessian Cinema Prize

The Hessian Cinema Prize is aimed at arthouse cinemas and film theaters and is endowed with a total of 150,000 euros. This year it will be awarded to 17 commercial cinemas or commercially operated cinemas and to ten non-commercial cinemas, screening venues or cinema initiatives and municipal cinemas. A list of the cinemas is at the end of this press release. The award-winning cinemas have the opportunity to show the films nominated for the film prize.
