“Hessentag in Pfungstadt: A Sports Festival for Everyone!”

There is a lot on offer at the Hessentag in Pfungstadt from June 2nd to 11th.

Pfungstadt. A week packed with exercise, sporting challenges and fun: This is what visitors can expect from June 2nd to 11th at the “Hessens Festival des Sports” at the Hessentag in Pfungstadt. Organized by the Sportkreis Darmstadt-Dieburg in cooperation with the Landessportbund Hessen, those interested can try out new sports – from judo to vaulting to the inclusive sport showdown – be amazed by demonstrations by local sports clubs or test their own skills on the Ninja Warrior course or football darts prove.

More than 30 clubs are involved – many come from the Darmstadt-Dieburg sports district, but also from neighboring sports districts such as Bergstrasse or Frankfurt. In addition, the state sports federation will have a stand at the “Treffpunkt Hessen”. In addition to information about organized sport, moving days of action await you there.

With a view to the Sports Festival in the Pfungstadt Peace Park, sports district chairman Rafael Reißer and state sports association vice president Ralf-Rainer Klatt promised in unison at a press conference: “We will celebrate a festival for everyone!” Whether young or old, whether someone has a disability or not, it doesn’t matter where he or she comes from: “The enthusiasm for the sport is a connecting factor that will truly be lived at this festival,” says Klatt.
With a view to the corona pandemic, which not least led to the cancellation of three Hessentage, Reißer added: “After years of distance, it is particularly important to promote the joy of exercise and play in the community and especially families for one To motivate more to exercise.”

In order to be able to provide a colorful program for the entire duration of the Hessentag in the “Merck Fit & Fun Park” in the Friedenspark, the sports group has brought numerous clubs, associations and organizations on board. These include small sports clubs from the region, but also SV Darmstadt 98 or the ViiAS project (diverse, innovative, inclusive offers in sports).

“Hessen’s Sports Festival has always been a good opportunity to show how colorful sport is in a region – and what a great job our clubs do,” explained Ralf-Rainer Klatt.
