Hessen: Regional League: Kickers Offenbach overtakes FSV Frankfurt

In the Regionalliga Südwest there were two duels between Hesse teams. While the Offenbacher Kickers shot FSV Frankfurt out of the stadium, the match between Gießen and Fulda-Lehnerz ended in a draw.

In the Southwest Regional League, Kickers Offenbach achieved a big win in the small Main derby against FSV Frankfurt on Saturday. In front of 7,456 spectators, the OFC won comfortably 5-0 (1-0) at their home ground, Bieberer Berg. For Offenbach, ex-Bornheim player Onur Ünlücifci set up Valdrin Mustafa’s goal shortly before half-time (42′).

In the second half, the OFC gained more field advantages – especially after Frankfurt’s most conspicuous player, Giorgio Del Vecchio, was shown a yellow-red card in the 71st minute. Offenbach were able to take advantage of this numerical superiority: Captain Marc Wachs (73rd), Stephan Mensa (76th) and Dimitrij Nazarov (81st/84th) scored to make the final score 5-0.

No winner between Gießen and Fulda

In the match between FC Gießen and SG Barockstadt Fulda-Lehnerz, a similar number of goals were scored, but they were equally distributed. Thus, the second Hesse duel on Saturday ended in a 2:2 (1:1) draw. Striker Krish Raweri gave FC Gießen an early lead with his goal (2nd), but it did not last long, because in the 20th minute Milian Habermehl equalized for the East Hesse team.

There was a similar double blow in the second half: First Dominik Rummel scored for Giessen (60th minute), before Marius Köhl equalised just a minute later. The score remained 2:2 in front of 1,327 spectators until the end.

Freiberg wins in Steinbach

Around 50 kilometers away from the match venue in Gießen, the only goals scored between TSV Steinbach Haiger and SGV Freiberg were for the guests: Armend Qenaj (69th) and Tino Bradara (89th) ensured Freiberg’s comfortable 2-0 victory.

Kassel’s drama in the final minutes

At the same time, KSV Hessen Kassel also suffered a defeat. In the duel against the second team of SC Freiburg, the North Hesse team lost 1:3 (0:1). The Finn Oscar Wiklöf scored first for the visitors (30′).

Things got dramatic in the final minutes: First Joyce Luyeye-Nkula (86th) scored the equalizer for Kassel, but then Marco Wörner (87th) and David Amegnaglo (90th) struck for the guests. Due to the 1:3 defeat, KSV is still waiting for its first point this season.
