Offenbach. At the beginning of the new week it will be cold and often cloudy in Hesse. In the night to Monday until Monday morning there is still a risk of ice due to freezing, light precipitation, as the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach announced on Sunday. In the course of the day, there is mostly no precipitation with maximum temperatures between one and five degrees. Some relaxation is possible in the afternoon and evening. At high altitudes, maximum values of minus two to one degree can be expected.
Misty-cloudy or very cloudy it will continue on Wednesday. Loosening up is the exception throughout the day. The temperatures reach a maximum of zero to four degrees. Light permafrost is possible in mountainous areas.
After previously milder conditions, the onset of winter at the weekend made it possible to resume winter sports in some cases. On the Wasserkuppe (district of Fulda), skiing began on Friday, in the northern Hessian ski area of Willingen (district of Waldeck-Frankenberg) the ski slopes opened on Saturday. (dpa)
