Eight ultra-fast charging stations for electric cars will be located in Riga, while the others will be located in other places in Latvia. Several charging systems will be installed at the stations, each with a capacity of at least 150 kW, which will ensure that electric cars will take around 30 minutes to charge.
Firstly, the ‘Ignitis ON’ charging stations will be intended for charging electric cars, however an option may also be provided for charging electric bicycles and scooters. “Ignitis Latvija” has already started work on the design of the charging points and the first stations near the restaurants of the “Hesburger” fast food chain are expected to open in the first half of 2023. In Lithuania, at the beginning of September this year the first “Ignitis ON” network charging station was opened near the “Hesburger” restaurant. The Latvian version of the “Ignitis ON” mobile app is under development, where you can find the locations of the charging stations.
