Thousands of fans were looking forward to the long-delayed concert of singing legend Jiří Korn (73). However, they were in for an unpleasant surprise when the organizer has now announced that the sold-out September concert in Prague’s O2 Arena is being cancelled. The producer subsequently added details on social networks, what led him to this radical step.

Jiří Korn is a well-known top artist, for his singing has influenced more than one generation. Even performed at a concert recently singer and presenter Leoš Mareš, who did another mega show in Prague’s O2 arena. Jiří Korn was also planning a similar spectacular concert at the same place.
It was supposed to be held there in September the three-year-delayed added concert, originally planned to honor Korn’s seventies. But everything is different. As the organizer announced, a major music event is being cancelled.
Organizational and contractual complications
“The concert in O2 Arena in September 2019 became a unique experience for many visitors. We were honored and delighted by such evaluations, for which we thank you. Three long, complicated years have passed since that moment, and none of us expected that so much time could pass before the planned rerun. Unfortunately, our production company, which is behind this unique project, now comes with sad news for us as well,” writes in official statement producer Tomáš Ságl for the organizing agency.
“Due to the very long time gap, we are now unfortunately noticing the concurrence of increasing uncertainties from the planned implementation of this event. The situation in terms of technical, organizational and contractual complications is also such that it is not possible to guarantee the implementation of this concert show in the form it had in 2019,” adds Ságl, stating that the money for the purchased tickets will be returned.
What if the performers have to quarantine?
However, this explanation was not enough for many fans, and Ságl was bombarded with all sorts of questions about what it is the right reason canceling a long-delayed event. The producer therefore commented on the whole matter in his own way Facebook.
“Since this morning, I have been facing questions from the media as to why Jiří Korn’s almost sold-out added concert at the O2 Arena is really being cancelled.. Mr. Korn must be sick, right? Or is there surely something else to it? Apart from all the reactions of support, for which I thank you very much, and knowing that Mr. Korn is in good healthI was pleased with the message of Mrs. Lída from Kolín. I wouldn’t say it better, I quote: “Well, that concert in 2019 was incredible. Probably not quite everyone or everything, as it was, has completely come together, and Mr. Producer cannot afford to present ANY CUT-OFF PROGRAM after 3 years. Oh, and the whole thing will be built up, a few of those clouds of performers might suddenly have to go into quarantine just before the event… and what then…” Ságl helped himself by quoting a fan.
