The Rhinos Seniors will have their second test of the 2023 season on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Guests at the Rhinos Field at Weihersbach, the Suhl Gunslingers from Thuringia. Both teams are coming out of preparation and now want to see where they stand at the moment. Kickoff for the game is at 3:00 p.m.
The Suhl Gunslingers were founded in Suhl in 2017 and have been competing in the Central German Association League ever since. Last season’s opponents were Friberg Phantoms, Erzgebirge Miners, Salzland Racoons, BLK Underdogs and Vogtland Rebels. The season could be completed with a 5:1 balance and promotion was within reach, but the Salzland Racoons managed to win on the last day and thus promoted themselves to the 4th league.
In this way, the rhinos meet an experienced opponent whose skill level corresponds to their own level. An exciting game should therefore be pre-programmed. The Rhinos players and coaches have been working in the gym, hall and on the training ground since last November to be able to offer American football to fans at their home Rhinos Field again after a long break. The details were also fine-tuned at the training camp in Austria, so that the second preseason game is well prepared.
The focus of this preseason game will be primarily on finding out which areas still need to be worked on before the first regular season game on the following weekend. In addition to the game on the field, fans of the rhinos can look forward to a rich supporting program around the game day. In the offseason, those responsible got together and developed a new game day concept that should make the Herzo Rhinos game days an experience for the whole family.
