The Bundesliga club Hertha BSC, threatened with relegation, has released its Managing Director Sport Fredi Bobic from his duties with immediate effect. The Berliners announced this a few hours after the defeat in the city derby against Union (0:2). The decision of the presidency was unanimous. The reasons for the exemption will be explained at a press conference on Sunday (1 p.m.).
After three defeats this year, Hertha is in a relegation zone. Bobic had given trainer Sandro Schwarz a job guarantee.
Bobic’s tasks should probably be divided first. Bild and Sport1 reported late on Saturday evening that Hertha was bringing back former player Andreas Neuendorf and long-time academy director Benjamin Weber. The club initially did not confirm the personal details.
