There was an excitement when Hertha BSC played against Hoffenheim.
Hertha coach Bruno Labbadia defended the emotional jubilation of his players, including physical contact, after the 3-0 victory at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and campaigned for forgiveness. “I’m definitely going to see my team. I just hope people outside understand,” said Labbadia at the press conference on Saturday.
At all three goals, the capitals – unlike the German Football League recommended – cheered with physical contact. A DFL spokesman said that sanctions for this are superfluous, since it is only “a hint for orientation” in addition to the hygiene concept.
With an own goal by Kevin Akpoguma (58.) and the goals of Vedad Ibisevic (60.) and Matheus Cunha (74.), the Berliners managed to restart after a two-month Corona break. “Emotions are part of it,” said Labbadia. “An uncanny pressure” weighed on the team.
