All clear looks different! After the Corona outbreak before the game at SC Freiburg on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky), Hertha is still worried about a hell of a lot of professionals. After all: Coach Tayfun Korkut was able to welcome two important players back to training on Wednesday.

Dedryck Boyata and Suat Serdar have returned to team training. Both captain Boyata after surviving a ligament injury and Serdar after recovering from the corona infection completed the entire training program on Wednesday for the 80-minute start of preparation for the game at SC Freiburg.

Hertha striker Jovetic struck

Goalkeeper Nils Körber also returned to the pitch after bruising his knee. In contrast, new signing Kelian Nsona and Stevan Jovetic trained individually.

The striker, who scored the 1-1 draw in the 6-1 home defeat against RB Leipzig on Sunday, had to leave the pitch prematurely due to muscle problems in his thigh. According to Hertha coach Korkut, a precautionary measure: “Jove has been an important factor for us in the past few games, so we wanted to protect him.”

Seven Hertha professionals still in isolation

The 47-year-old had to do without goalkeepers Rune Jarstein and Oliver Christensen as well as defender Márton Dárdai, who are currently developing. Also missing were Niklas Stark, Lukas Klünter, Maximilian Mittelstädt, Marvin Plattenhardt, Prince Boateng, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp and Dongjun Lee. These seven professionals are still in domestic isolation.

Whether one of the players infected with Corona is already eligible for the game in Breisgau depends on further tests and a subsequent cardiological examination. “There are a few obstacles that we have, but that’s not much different in normal life,” said Korkut, “it’s a challenge, but I’m confident that we’ll get our heads up quickly”.
