Hertha BSC: Bobic’s dream solution for Preetz successor – played with Dárdai & Friedrich

But Gladbach is really the perfect example of how you can work your way up. And yet every five years it’s enough to get into the Champions League at all. Shows quite well where realistically with a club like Gladbach or possibly Frankfurt in the future the potential has been exhausted. You can only continue with a lot of money and / or a lot of luck. One of the two has Hertha, the other cannot be planned.

What speaks in favor of Frankfurt being above Hertha in 3-4 years? Talents? Better transfer policy? The second is nonsense when we speak of the perspective of one of the main people responsible for this transfer policy. Because then she would come with Bobic.

Exactly, and that’s a goal worth striving for. And in Frankfurt, Bobic has many arguments that speak in favor of being on the way. Talent scouting has brought in a lot of great young talent in recent years, and that is also thanks to Bobic, but above all to Ben Manga, who has been doing a fantastic job at Eintracht for years. In addition, Eintracht has put itself in a very good position in the past few years to continue on this path in the future. With the stadium expansion, the significantly improved conditions in terms of stadium rental and administration, the new performance center, some very good sponsorship deals and, among other things, the academy in the USA, a state-of-the-art structure has been created around the currently very successful team, the offers good conditions for the future. The Olympic Stadium is still bigger and capacities in the stadium do not matter at the moment, but Eintracht is far from having to hide in this regard.

Yes, Bobic has played a huge part in the success of the past few years, that’s absolutely correct. But what of the things mentioned above could Hertha offer him? A lot of money and a bigger stadium. But the functioning structure, etc., the atmosphere in the club, the very well-working coach, these are all factors that Hertha cannot offer him. In addition, one does not know exactly how much influence Windhorst has behind the scenes on the professional department. And last but not least: Who says that Dardai can handle the current squad better? After all, his contract was terminated because it was felt that under him no big leaps could be made. Now is he suddenly the great bearer of hope?

In Berlin there are some things that are very bad, I have the feeling from the outside, or I have read and told about some Hertha fans. That wasn’t just Preetz, I think there are other critical factors at play. Sure, it can happen that in the event of a change, Bobic would come in and become the great doer and cleaner. But it can also happen that the “Big City Club”, after the years of Constance with Preetz as sports director, now makes one on HSV and the revolving door begins to rotate in addition to the coaching level, also on the management level. Is that really an exciting project when you are in a position where you can build up a sustainable and constant process – even with a foreseeable limit?

Ultimately, this is all idle speculation. But I definitely see far more factors that speak for Frankfurt and Eintracht than for the “Big City Club”.

As I wrote in my outgoing mail, I mainly dealt with the points Pro Berlin, because the points Pro Frankfurt have already been described in detail and I completely agree with them.

And then at the end you describe yourself what I said. Frankfurt is the “simpler” project somewhere. You have all of these total flop risks a lot less. Bobic knows what he has and knows, as much as it is possible in football, where things are going roughly.

And it goes without saying that the environment could thwart his plans at Hertha. But all the things you mention: bad coach, atmosphere in the club, bad scouting, bad youth work are all things that a sports director can influence himself. And that in the medium term, i.e. in 2-3 years.
One can only speculate about whether a Windhorst will speak in there or block others there. But it doesn’t do us much good here.

I think we’re not that far apart, if at all. Neither of us ever doubted that there were invalid points for either option. And accordingly, Bobic’s whereabouts and a change are conceivable and would then be understandable. Then with Bobic the arguments of one side or the other would have had the greater value, without that meaning that the other side did not exist.
