Strong second half is not enough in the end
At the beginning of the second period, Reiß had to change early. Bence Dárdai limped off, but Oliver Rölke was replaced by a fresh striker. Accordingly, our Spreeathener acted offensively, who were still the game-determining team. However, the first really good opportunity belonged to the hosts. Julian Rijkhoff ran freely towards Tim Goller and was actually able to choose the corner, but Joel da Silva Kiala splashed in at the last second and cleared (61′). Our blue and whites continued to give their all and were hot for the second goal: Maza failed with a shot from a short angle by Kirsch, Kiala failed to hit a follow-up shot after a corner (78′). In the 85th minute, our captain Veit Stange tried from a distance, but our number 6’s shot was slightly deflected and therefore flew over the goal. After the final whistle it was 1-0 (1-0) and a great performance from the point of view of our Hertha team, but the mortgage from the first leg proved to be too high, so that Oliver Reiß’s protégés reached the final of the German A-Juniors Unfortunately miss the championship this year.
