Hertha Berlin will not pay salaries to footballers who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus and end up in quarantine.
This was announced by Fredi Bobič, sports director of the German club, which also includes the Slovak national team defender Peter Pekarík.
Most of Hertha’s players were vaccinated. From the beginning of October, those who are not pay for PCR tests at their own expense. “As of November 2, we have decided that players without vaccination will not receive a salary during isolation,” he said Berry for BZ and Bild newspapers.
A former coach of the German national team also spoke in support of the vaccination for Sky Sport News Joachim Löw, however, added that it is for voluntariness: “I can only speak for myself. Vaccination is necessary if we want to find a way out of a pandemic. Personally, vaccination makes sense to me, but if anyone is against it, we can only accept it. We can only advise others. Vaccination in all our clubs is well above 90 percent, much higher than in the entire German population. “
