Tyler Herro, a player who debuted last season in the NBA by going directly to the Finals with his Miami Heat and who currently acts as sophomore, has been one of the last guests on the podcast The Old Man And The Three who stars J.J. Redick, a true shooting specialist with fifteen seasons behind him who now plays for the Pelicans.
In the conversation that both have had, a thorny issue has been raised that Redick brought up and that Herro did not avoid: “I’ve experienced this my entire career. In the last quarters of games, have you felt like, being a short-armed target, teams look to you on defense?”. The Heat player accompanied the response, alluding to both his situation and that of his teammate Duncan Robinson, with similar physical characteristics and with a contribution similar to the squad led by Eirk Spoelstra: “Yes, yes. We already know that, at the point where we are now, they are going to go after us no matter what we do. We can already do the best defense in the world, they are going to get us.”. The Pelicans escort related another example to the laughter of young Herro: “I feel like sometimes it’s like they screwed you up by fouling me five or six and then manipulating the ball man blocking so you have to defend their best player.”.
Tyler Herro is a new player in the NBA. He was elected in the Draft 2019 by the Heat, falling to 13th position and being considered one of the picks steals. He has shown himself as a player who can not only shoot from three but also, before Goran Dragic’s loss in the Finals, he was able to lead the team from the point guard position. Herro, of 20 years, came from the University of Kentucky, one of the best in the country when it comes to basketball training. In his first regular season average 13.5 points with 38.9% in the triples, but in the playoffs raised its contribution to 16’1 points, 5’1 rebounds and 3’7 assists to touch the championship with your fingers.
