Heroic Palestinian Female Doctor Bravely Saves Injured Man Despite Israeli Bullets – Anadolu News

Today, Saturday, Palestinian news pages circulated on social media platforms a video clip of a female doctor who braved Israeli bullets to save an injured young man in front of the gate of the Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

The video clip showed the Palestinian doctor, Amira Al-Assouli, running with her back bent, late last night, from the inner gate of the complex to the outside to rescue a young man who was hit by an Israeli sniper’s bullet, and who remained bleeding while lying on the ground.

Anadolu correspondent reported that Dr. Al-Assouli continues her work without interruption despite her displacement from her home, which was destroyed by the Israeli army in the new town of Abasan, east of the city of Khan Yunis.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that Al-Assouli did not refrain from saving the injured young man despite the danger she exposed herself to, as the Israeli army had previously directly targeted the paramedics of the injured. Activists praised the boldness and courage of Dr. Al-Assouli.

The Israeli army continues to besiege the Nasser Medical Complex and Al-Amal Hospital, affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, for the 20th day in a row, amid gunfire and repeated targeting of their surroundings and every moving object.

Earlier Saturday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement, “The occupation forces are firing heavy fire towards the gates, buildings and courtyards of the Nasser Medical Complex.” It reported a martyr and a number of injuries as a result of intense shooting towards the complex.

The Ministry indicated that medical teams were unable to move between the complex’s buildings as a result of the targeting, and expressed its fear for the lives of 300 health personnel, 450 wounded and sick people, and 10,000 displaced people inside the complex.

The Ministry called on international organizations to enter the complex to protect it and all those inside it.

Since January 22, the Israeli army has launched a series of intense raids on Khan Yunis, and in the vicinity of its hospitals, amid ground advances by its vehicles in the southern and western areas of the city, prompting thousands of Palestinians to flee from it.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip that has left tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure, which led to Tel Aviv being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide. .
