“Heroes of the future” organized blood drive

Young students decided to celebrate youth and spring in a different way, and they did so by promoting awareness and solidarity of blood donation.

The lives of many patients depend on the availability of blood in health services, so voluntary and altruistic donation from healthy people is crucial.

The National Center for Blood Services (CENSSA), in commemoration of the spring and youth week, jointly held with the “National College of Capiatá” a day of solidarity and altruism with the donation of blood.

The activity carried out within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, through CENSSA, called “Heroes of the future”, had 223 volunteer donors who, with this act, demonstrated the importance of social commitment in the voluntary donation of blood.

Also, companies and civil society actors such as SKYTEL, Pastoral Social – Arquidiócesis de la Santísima Asunción, QUIMFA SA and the Jesuitas Foundation joined the celebration of spring and youth week, with the purpose of helping to cover the blood needs of patients: injured, mothers with complications of childbirth, children with leukemia, hemophiliacs and people suffering from different diseases that require it.

Blood is not manufactured, its availability depends on the decision of each donor who extends his arm in a simple, safe and easy act. Donating blood can save up to three lives.
