Dr. Hilda Rubí reported today that the license to release funds for the program has already been approved Health Heroes and that from next Monday the more than 62 thousand beneficiaries They can start their registration through Airtm, a platform indicated by the Interim Government of Juan Guaidó to receive your contribution of $ 100 for three months.
From this Saturday until Monday, August 2462,697 members of the health personnel will receive confirmation of being beneficiaries and must register in the Airtm website. To do so, they will have technical and personalized support through a call center with more than one hundred people in service, explained the deputy of the National Assembly, Manuela Bolívar.
The Héroes de la Salud program, a project that began in April and has received more than 20 attacks by the Nicolás Maduro regime, will use “Funds of the Nation rescued from the hands of the dictatorship”, Rubí explained in a digital meeting with the media this Saturday.
The selection of beneficiaries was established through two dimensions: exposure to the virus and vulnerability to covid-19. “Those criteria were public and were shared with the applicants”, said the doctor. In that sense, Deputy Bolívar added that the program began with the idea of benefiting 45 thousand members of the health personnel, but over time they managed to increase the figure to more than 60 thousand: “We will allocate 19 million dollars to medical personnel who are in the front row battling the coronavirus.”
The largest number of beneficiaries is in the states where there is an accelerated growth of the virus and where the main sources of covid-19 are. In Zulia, 7,804 beneficiaries; in Miranda, 3,945; Tachira, 4,129; Bolívar, 3,213 and in Caracas, 5,560.
Likewise, a division was made according to the level of patient care. 17,275 beneficiaries belong to the health centers that provide services in the CDIs and military hospitals; 16,653 from type IV hospitals; 12,930 from type I hospitals; 8,711 from type II hospitals; and 7,128 from type III hospitals.
The contribution comes at a crucial time for healthcare workers. Rubí indicated that the mortality rate in that sector rises to 28%. Until August 19, the NGO Médicos Unidos registered 80 members of the health personnel who died from coronavirus. The lack of basic supplies and services and of protective equipment decimates the personnel fighting the pandemic: “It is alarming that doctors have 33 times more risk of contracting the disease than other Venezuelan … The Héroes de la Salud program is a recognition of the people Venezuelan to health professionals ”.
