AvD and Kia Germany Join Forces for “Hero of the Road” Campaign

The Automobile Club of Germany (AvD) and Kia Germany have announced their collaboration in the “Hero of the Road” campaign. This joint effort aims to recognize and honor selfless individuals who have saved lives or minimized the consequences of accidents through their exemplary actions. The campaign is being supported by the renowned magazine, Auto Road Traffic.

For over a decade, the AvD campaign in Germany has been acknowledging individuals who have gone above and beyond to protect and save human lives on the road. At the end of each year, a jury, which now includes representatives from Kia and Auto Road Traffic, selects the “Hero” or “Heroine of the Year” from the monthly winners.

Kia’s involvement in the campaign comes through its Kia Flex subscription service, which allows customers to subscribe to new cars at an all-inclusive rate for a specific period. As part of this support, the “Road Hero 2022” winner, Stefan Rittger from Burglengenfeld, will receive a Kia Stonic for six months, along with a fuel allowance of 250 euros per month. Rittger, an elementary school teacher, prevented a serious accident with his courageous intervention during a bus ride to a school camp.

In the upcoming year, all “Heroes of the Month 2023” will be rewarded with a Kia Sportage plug-in hybrid for two weeks, in addition to fuel costs of 250 euros per award. Furthermore, the “Road Hero 2023” selected at the end of the year will be granted a Kia Niro EV for 12 months, along with a Kia Charge charging card that includes a charging budget of 250 euros per month.

The collaboration between AvD and Kia Germany in the “Hero of the Road” campaign aims to highlight and appreciate the selfless acts of individuals who have made a significant impact on road safety. By recognizing these heroes, the campaign hopes to inspire others to follow their example and contribute to a safer and more responsible road environment.

The search for the next “Hero of the Month” has already begun, and the campaign encourages individuals to nominate deserving candidates who have demonstrated exceptional bravery and selflessness on the road.
