“Corruption has distorted the way the institutions in Bulgaria operate.” This is the opinion of the American ambassador to Bulgaria Hero Mustafa, expressed to the BNR.

As an illustration of the problem, Mustafa described “stories about lawyers with suitcases” and “backroom deals”.

Peevski filed a lawsuit in the US, wants to remove him from “Magnitsky”

“The challenge, unfortunately, is a very small group of people who have created a system for enriching the oligarchic class and misappropriating state resources,” Mustafa said and recalled that three Bulgarians were sanctioned under the “Magnitsky” law.

“The United States revoked the visas of six Bulgarians because of corruption, and in Bulgaria they have not been convicted, some of them have not even been fired,” added the American ambassador.

We remind you that during the discussion of the creation of the commission for Nexo in the parliament, the MP from the DPS Yordan Tsonev explained that there was no evidence for his fellow party member Delyan Peevski in the Bulgarian institutions.
