Brothers Juancho and Willy Hernangómez and Usman Garuba couldn’t enjoy this NBA Victory Day Monday with the Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets, respectively, and they didn’t put in any overly brilliant performances either.
The Raptors made it clear they are in a bad patch and conceded their sixth straight loss as they fell narrowly and after overtime 104-101 to the Philadelphia 76ers, with Juancho Hernangómez starting.
The Madrid forward, who is now used in multiple facets of the home game, spent more than 14 minutes on the track, scoring seven points, 3/4 shooting, and grabbing a rebound for a Canadian team that wasn’t enough to Pascal Siakam spectacular game with 38 points and 16 catches.
For his part, his brother Willy returned to play with the Pelicans, who are not doing too well now and who signed their fourth consecutive loss by falling at home against the Milwaukee Bucks 119-128, with a stellar Giannis Antetokounmpo (42 and 10) and a Serge Ibaka without minutes.
The Spanish center was on the field for almost ten minutes, in which he could only contribute five points and one rebound for a team where Lithuanian Jonas Valanciunas (37 and 18) also shone above Zion Williamson.
Finally, Usman Garuba was also unable to enjoy a victory with some Rockets who continue to be the worst franchise in the Western Conference after clearly losing the Texan duel 105-124 at home against the penultimate San Antonio Spurs.
The Azuqueca de Henares striker played more than 14 minutes, in which he didn’t have much success offensively, with poor 0/5 shooting and no points in the standings, although he grabbed five rebounds.
