After two problem-free wins against Waldkirch St. Gallen, HC Rychenberg suffered its worst third in a long time. There was a lack of concentration at the beginning, which was reflected in an unusually high number of unforced stick errors. Waldkirch, as usual, showed little offensive spirit when in possession of the ball, but knew how to take advantage of the invitation to counterattack and took a 2-0 lead by the 7th minute.

From the middle third onwards, the HCR began to increase the pressure significantly and hardly allowed Waldkirch to catch their breath. However, decision-making remained at a modest level, which is why clear scoring opportunities remained in short supply for the time being. The fact that Waldkirch increased their lead to 4-0 with their only two forays over the halfway line halfway through their home game made Winterthur’s task even more difficult.

Only after Claudio Mutter broke the spell with his goal to make it 1:4 in the 35th minute did the HCR’s game become a little clearer. The looseness and the inspiring collective game did not return that evening, but the intensity was enough to go 7-5 ahead by the 55th minute.

However, nothing was decided yet. Waldkirch, which had previously been almost non-existent offensively for 40 minutes, managed to equalize before Levin Conrad secured at least two points for the leaders with his “golden goal” in the 62nd minute.
