Here’s why the Porsche Taycan is faster than the Tesla Model S

Final data from a Top Gear test suggests that the Taycan is faster than the Model S

Since Porsche launched its first electric vehicle on the market, the Porsche Taycan, the German brand set out to compete with the manufacturer Tesla for the title of the best seller of electric vehicles and luxury sports. The vehicle that Porsche wants to overthrow from the market is nothing more or less than the Tesla Model S. Which of the two is better?

When Porsche presented the Taycan for the first time in September 2019, there were very few details about the car to start comparing it with the Tesla Model S, which has been produced since 2012.

But the Taycan has already begun to be delivered in the United States, and critics have already begun comparing both cars.

In matters of mile range, the Tesla Model S leaves the Porsche Taycan far behind. According to the environmental protection agency (EPA), the Porsche Taycan Turbo, the standard model of the Taycan, has a range of miles of only 201 miles, while the Tesla Model S has a mile range of 373 miles by recharge.

But in speed, the Taycan is much more superior to the Model S.

According to the German manufacturer, the Taycan can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (mph) in 2.6 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 161mph. The Model S, on the other hand, can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds to achieve a top speed of 163 miles per hour, according to Tesla.

That data puts Tesla as the fastest, however, a recent physical test by the Top Gear publication put both vehicles to the test and found that the Taycan is actually superior to the Model S.

According to the data obtained by the publication, the Taycan can accelerate from 0 to 60 in 2.61, while the Model S can accelerate from 0 to 60 in 2.68, making the German car faster than the American.
