In the land of bureaucracy, this time there is no need to queue or fill out forms: a useful discount, especially these days
The indiscriminate increase in fuel is taking hold. Politics has been talking about it for weeks. However, the indices are constantly increasing and this affects not only the lives of motorists. But there are some categories that can take advantage of some discounts. Here are which ones.
The war in Ukraine, which began with the Russian invasion of February 24, has led to a series of economic repercussions on citizens. From the energy crisis to the wheat crisis. All costs are increasing and many families no longer know how to get by. But not only.
In a country like Italy where 85% of goods travel by road to reach the shelves, the increase in gasoline and diesel prices has an avalanche effect on the costs of businesses and on consumer spending with the risk of feeding psychosis, hoarding and speculation. The increase in fuel prices – from petrol to diesel – causes effects that extend to the entire agri-food chain, from fields to the processing industry to conservation and distribution to get to the shopping trolley of families.
The cut in excise duties ordered by the government has not solved the problems. And, moreover, now in a month (July 8) the provision will expire. So the Executive chaired by Mario Draghi must decide what to do. This is why it is important for you citizens to know that there are some categories that can take advantage of some discounts on fuel. Here are which ones and how to access the benefits.
Discounts on fuels
The memorandum of understanding was recently renewed. It is called “Self for all” and has the membership of over 430 service stations of the most disparate brands. In fact, starting from February 2020, disabled people are entitled to discounts on petrol. It is therefore an agreement stipulated in favor of those who benefit from Law 104. A pact welded even before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, aimed at social inclusion and which now, with the oil crisis, can be very useful to save something.
Thanks to the agreement between the associations that protect the disabled and company representatives, the disabled with mobility difficulties and caregivers benefit from the self-service discounts, even if they will be assisted by the staff of the service station. They will essentially pay for gasoline at the cost they could refuel if they did it themselves.
To join the associated petrol pumps ENI, Q8 and Tamoil, also on the motorway. The savings can even reach up to 10 cents per liter. And you understand that, these days, it’s a real godsend. Especially because this discount is not only for the disabled, but also for the people who take care of them.
How to get the discounts? Very simple: on the Unione Petrolifera website there is a list of petrol stations that have joined the protocol in favor of those who enjoy Law 104. However, they are easily recognizable even without consulting the site because those who join will report it with a clearly visible logo. But the most important thing is that, in the country of bureaucracy, this time no queues or forms should be filled in: just go to one of the service stations participating in the initiative and once the disability has been identified, the staff will charge the reduced price.
