Here’s what the 2024 Porsche Macan will look like

While unveiling the new 99X Gen3 Formula E car last week, Porsche also revealed several technical specifications for the upcoming 2024 Macan. According to the revelations, we can expect, among other things, that the Macan will feature a battery of 100kWh. He writes, among other things Car.

High efficiency batteries

The battery pack will be divided into 12 modules and will have a different type of battery chemistry than the batteries in the Taycan. With, among other things, silicon in the anode, which gives it a higher energy density. And with up to 270 kW of charging power, the Macan should be able to charge from 5% to 80% in just 25 minutes.

Porsche has yet to release official range figures, but a spokesperson for the German automaker is quoted as saying the Macan will have significantly more range than the Taycan, which today clocks in at around 500 WLTP kilometers.

First electric car on Porsche’s new DPI platform

The Macan will be the first vehicle built on the Volkswagen Group’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800v architecture. The platform was developed in cooperation with Audi and will also be used in the upcoming Q6 e-tron.

The PPE platform is designed for electric all-wheel drive, but will also be able to support rear-wheel drive in the future. The electric motors used in the Macan will be significantly renewed and more efficient than in the Taycan. Together, they produce up to 603 horsepower (450 kW) and 1,001 Nm of torque.

Naturally, Porsche focuses on making the driving characteristics optimal, also with the help of four-wheel steering and an advantageous weight distribution. The Macan EV also gets a new generation of the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) chassis, with increased ride comfort and more adjustment options. At higher speeds, the car will be lowered to provide better aerodynamics and reduced fuel consumption.

He can probably choose between Bose and Burmester

Porsche hasn’t yet released detailed infotainment specs in the Macan, but we can probably expect one or more touch screens with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Today’s fossil version of the Macan can be equipped with upgraded sound systems from Bose or Burmester, so it’s reasonable to believe that the electric version of the future will also have similar options.
