The stage is set for the “Maskorama” finale, and a Season 3 winner will be chosen. Only three mysteries remain: ‘The Zombie’, ‘The Wolf’ and ‘The Rabagast’.
Reveal the secret details of the “Maskorama”.
Dagbladet assembled an expert group, made up of three singing teachers and one former participant.
The jury is composed of singing educators Merethe Trøan, Christer Aannestad, and Ingrid Nåvik Grønlund, and artist and former finalist of “Maskorama”. Ingeborg Walther (23).
We asked the jury who they think is hiding behind the remaining masks.
Maskorama: This is how much celebrities get paid
– In the previous two seasons, there were more that I was 100% sure about. I’m not here this year, says Trøan.
“Zombies”
There is no doubt that the expert jury was thrilled by the performances and vocal performances of the “Zombie”.
– Do you think “The Zombie” is a professional singer?
– YES! That voice and that technique don’t come by themselves!, says Walther.
– The voice works smoothly in both high and low pitches, is flexible and responds well to the expression the singer wants to convey. With such steely technical control, I’m convinced this is a professional singer, says Aannestad.
Reveal behind-the-scenes secrets
– He’s clearly an artist. He sings absolutely fantastic!, says Trøan.
– Yes, this is a person who sang a lot. This can be heard in the timing, phrasing, vocal choice and small trills, adds Grønlund.
Nor do they doubt who is hiding behind the figure of the “living dead”.
– There’s something distinctive about the sound of his voice that makes it have to be him, says Aannestad.
“The Zombie” is so confident on stage, and the clues fit so well who I finally landed on, continues Trøan.
– Unbelievable unbelievable
The jury agrees: they believe it is artist, and former ‘Star Game’ winner Bilal Saab (23), who is behind the ‘Zombie’.
– IT MUST BE? So if it’s not him, I don’t understand anything, says Walther busy.
But Trøan admits she wouldn’t have been surprised if Vegard Ylvisåker (43) turned out to be hiding behind the mask.
– He sings very well, I heard it! She obnoxiously gets high in the same way as the “Zombie”.
“The wolf”
One finalist that the judging panel isn’t entirely sure about – quite the opposite – is “The Wolf”.
– I’m really just confused, reveals Trøan.
– Do you think “The Wolf” is a professional singer?
– It’s difficult! I feel like “The Wolf” sings so differently in every broadcast. I have the feeling that Ulven changes her singing voice a lot. A real trick!, says Walther.
Debunk the wild “Maskorama” theory.
– I do not think so. He’s mostly concerned with the fact that the vocals don’t sound quite as educated as they do on “The Zombie,” for example. That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with her singing voice, because she sings well and has great potential to further develop her voice, says Aannestad.
– No, not really. If so, that’s very professional! Because it takes great musicality to sing harshly on purpose, says Trøan.
– Artist maybe, but singer… well, adds Grønlund.
The panel is, to say the least, unsure who they think is behind the predator.
– Bad as adultery
– It could have been Thomas Numme (52), because the voice can remember his, but the allusions don’t match. I also visited Erlend Elias (40) and Kjetil Rolness (61), reveals Trøan.
– If I had to guess completely arbitrarily, I think I would have landed on Petter Northug (36), continues Aannestad.
Grønlund, for his part, puts a button on former ‘Paradise Hotel’ participant Erik Sæther (26).
The former ‘Maskorama’ participant has faith in TikTok’s theory that there are two people taking turns singing.
– This may be why it sounds so different from time to time. Maybe Henrik Todesen (42) and Odd Magnus Williamson (42)? But I’m very insecure, it will be so exciting to see!
“Rabagast”
When it comes to the energetic and dancing “Rabagasten”, the jury disagrees whether or not a professional artist is behind it.
– No, I don’t think so from what I’ve heard, but he’s exceptionally good at rapping! He must have extremely good lung capacity to rap the way he does, says Walther.
Røper’s “secret” system
– I’m pretty sure “Rabagasten” is a professional singer. There’s something about the timing and rhythm that is felt in both body and voice, Aannestad believes.
– He is probably the least educated of the three participants, says Trøan.
– He’s probably also an artist, or someone who works in entertainment. I’m not sure if it’s a singer anymore, continues Grønlund.
Here too the panel is divided on who they think is hiding behind the foul-mouthed figure.
Walther thinks it could be 22-year-old freestyle rider Birk Ruud, Grønlund thinks it is actor Jakob Schøyen Andersen (32), while Aannestad thinks it could be Thomas “Fingern” Gullestad (41).
Trøan, for his part, has been inside Northug, but finally lands on former snowboarder Daniel Franck (47).
He deceived the roommate: – A little guilty conscience
Let yourself be impressed
Dagbladet’s expert judging panel is slightly impressed with this year’s finalists, especially since they have to sing under a mean-looking mask.
They think that all participants have extremely good communication skills.
Walther, who finished third last season, knows what it’s like to deliver Saturday after Saturday.
– It was really challenging to sing inside the mask. Each time it was simply a training session and I came out of the suit soaking hot. It’s the funniest, weirdest, scariest thing I’ve ever been a part of!
Several panelists say they think it was more difficult to bet on this year’s season.
They’re all excited to find out who is behind the remaining masks, and most importantly: find out who will ultimately walk away with the win.
