Now that April is over and the tarantulas are gone, here are some new techniques for pocket lots of bells with scorpions appearing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!
When do scorpions appear?
In the northern hemisphere, scorpions arrive in May and will also be present in June, July, August, September and October.
In terms of schedules, you will only find them between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m..
By cons attention: when you have a guest on your island, the scorpions will hide, so you have to be alone.
For information, the scorpions will save you 8000 bells each!
How to catch scorpions in animal crossing?
To catch a scorpion, it is quite similar as for a tarantula. You will need a net and a shovel (optional). The scorpion is aggressive in the same way as a tarantula and you should therefore approach it slowly. You will therefore see him in a defensive position. At that time, you will have to stop, wait a bit for it to calm down and approach again. Gradually approaching, you can catch it with your net. Take your time it’s 8000 bells after all. By going too fast, the scorpion may pursue you and attack you!

As with tarantulas, you can also dig holes. Scorpions can not jump over so you can hide behind the holes by jumping over and then calmly catch the scorpion with your net.
How to increase your chances of finding a scorpion on a desert island?
On a desert island, you can increase your chances of meeting lots of scorpions with this technique which will require a little preparation but is worth it!
Warning : some islands do not have insects and therefore this technique will not work.
- Take a Nook Miles ticket and go to the airport (don’t forget to do it only between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m.)
- Equip yourself with enough nets, iron axes and shovels.
- You will have to cut ALL the trees with the iron ax and then remove all the tree trunks with the shovel. Think – eat fruits to have your energy 10/10 because otherwise you will not be able to remove them.
- Break all the stones (just like for tree trunks, you need to have enough energy thanks to the fruits to do it).
- You will then have to pick all the flowers (do not dig them up but pick them well).
- Keep only weeds and flower roots on the island
- Remember to keep the net in your inventory to catch a maximum of scorpions (the rest put it on the beach for example)
