Here’s How to Respond – NBC New York (47)

If you’ve ever wanted to tell the MTA exactly how you feel about their services, whether you’re riding the bus, subway or commuter train, and don’t want your comments lost in a Twitter exchange in the heat of the moment, we’ve got good news.

The transit agency just released its Spring 2022 Customers Count Trips online survey and is asking those who travel in the New York City Transit, Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North Railroad y Access-A-Ride Paratransit let them answer it. Users can fill out the survey until June 24 here.

According to the MTA, officials will use the results of the annual survey to understand how people use its services now and how it can better direct future resources toward desired improvements. As the public knows, there are likely to be more than a few.

If you complete the survey, your name will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 prepaid cash gift card. Results of the survey will be available in September, officials said.

“We know customers are looking for safer, more reliable travel, and this survey helps us prioritize which trains and stations are top of the list for changes like new LED lighting and more frequent cleanings,” said Sarah Meyer, director of customer service at the MTA. “Tell us what you want, New York, and we’ll do our best to make your travels more comfortable.”

The MTA’s fall 2021 survey received 123,000 responses and was the first to target customers who use all of their transportation modes. The results of that survey found that hybrid work schedules affected ridership trends, with top customer concerns related to crime and cleanliness.

In response to those findings, the MTA says it has advocated for more police on platforms and aboard trains and stepped up security protocols related to COVID-19. The results of the fall survey can be found here.
