VIVA – International Diabetes Federation (IDF) recorded 537 million adults (aged 20 – 79 years) or 1 in 10 people living with diabetes worldwide. Diabetes also causes 6.7 million deaths or 1 every 5 seconds.
Indonesia is in fifth position with 19.47 million people with diabetes. With a population of 179.72 million, this means that the prevalence of diabetes in Indonesia is 10.6%.
According to a paper published by Indian researchers in the journal Current Diabetes Review, 2016, this could be due to the presence of higher body fat, belly fat, liver and pancreatic fat and lower lean mass than whites, all of which contribute on increased metabolic and cardiovascular risk in Asians.
The paper also shows that conversion from pre-diabetes to diabetes occurs more rapidly, and return to normal glucose regulation with appropriate lifestyle measures is more difficult in Asian Indians than white populations.

The best way out of this conundrum and to avoid the laundry list of side effects and complications of diabetes is to arm ourselves with information about the lifestyle disorders that are rapidly taking over our lives.
And the most important factor here besides sport regular and stress control is food what you eat. The right information can work on both sides – helping to prevent more people from developing diabetes, and also helping those who already have the disorder manage it better. Unfortunately, there are many myths circulating that need to be dispelled, as quoted from the Times of India
